Downloading a Test Script

Downloading of test scripts is only needed for test scripts that you develop in the context of testing native/hybrid mobile applications. For web based applications, there is no need for downloading test scripts to your local machines (laptops or desktops). In fact, Worksoft SaaS does not allow you to download test scripts that belong to products that have a type of 'Web Apps for Desktops and Mobile Devices'.
To download a Test Script, follow the steps below:
- On the Test Scripts Home Screen, expand the Actions column to view the download icon.
- To download a Test Script, click on the icon that is highlighted in the image below:
Clicking on the download button will start download once you select where in your file system, the Test Script needs to be stored. These files can be stored and re-used in other projects else can be edited in QaSCRIBE.
Test Scripts in Worksoft SaaS may contain some instructions with commands that are not supported in QaSCRIBE. When you try to download such Test Script, Worksoft SaaS gives you a pop-up asking you to choose one action to be performed.
- Selecting the first radio button and downloading will uncomment the commented instructions and also, removes the commands that are not supported in QaSCRIBE.
- The Second option would exclude the commented instructions as well as the instructions with unsupported commands.
