My Project Settings - General

Before this you might want to read:

Overview

The settings on the 'General' tab of the 'My Project-level Settings & Preferences' screen allow you to specify the preferences that control the on-login auto redirects.

On-Login Auto Redirects

The field 'Navigate to Module' within this section allows you to specify the module you want to land on within any project. The default module that you are directly to if you don't explicitly change the module setting is the 'Test Runs – Home'. You can change the landing module to the home screen of one of the following modules - Test Scripts, Scenarios, Run Definitions, Data Files, Test Cycles, Analytics and Labels.

The field 'Navigate to Project' within this section allows you to choose the specific project (from within many you may have access to) that you want to be automatically taken into the context of, when you log in into the Worksoft SaaS portal. The default is the first among an ascending alphabetically sorted list of projects, if you are a user that does not have domain administration privileges. If you are a user with the domain administration privileges, then you will be taken upon logging in to the 'Administration' assuming you did not configure it to go to a specific project using this setting.

Test Automation Artifacts Landing Screen

The Field 'Default Tab' within this section allows you choose default tab ( Library or My Favorites) that you want to be automatically taken into when navigating to Test Script, Test Scenario or Run Definition.

Once you make the changes you want to these settings, you must click 'Save'. Please note that if you have not made any changes to the settings, the 'Save' and 'Cancel' buttons will be disabled. Those buttons will be enabled only when there are changes waiting to be saved.

Please note that if you are not the project lead for a particular project, and your project lead, has shared his/her values for any setting in the 'On Login Auto Redirects' section and locked those values from edit by you, then you will NOT be able to change the values. In such a case, you will see the value that your project's lead shared with you but you will not be able to override the value. If your project lead shared his/her value for any setting but with a permission for you to override the value, then you will see the value shared by your lead and will be able to deviate from the value shared with you based on your own personal preference.

Propagating value of any setting from this project to others projects

If you want to propagate the value of any setting from this project to other projects that you personally have access to, you can do that as well, assuming that the project leads for those other projects have given you permission to personalize the values for the setting.

Not all settings are enabled for propagation of the value from one project to other projects in this section.
  • The default module (tab) to land on is enabled for propagation from one project to other projects
  • The project to be automatically be taken into the context of upon logging in is not enabled for propagation from one project to another because only a single selection is allowed across all projects that you have access to.

Propagating your value of any setting to others users of the same project

If you are a project lead for the project, then you will be able to share the value you set for any setting to other users that have access to that project. While doing so, you have two options:
  • Propagate your setting's value to others and lock (prevent) those users from editing and personalizing the propagated value
  • Propagate your setting's value to others and allow them to edit or personalize the value based on their own preference
