Release Notes - 14 Oct 2019

New Features available for you to benefit from:

Included in this release are the following features:

  • New Commands :: Commands for supporting Excel Verification, Manipulation, and Persistence

A new set of commands are coming in this release which allows you to perform few operations for the Excel files like append, override, clear, clone, setting formulae, selecting a specific range or offset values within a range. These operations help you in making the necessary changes using the commands at the test run level.

To refer to each command of this category in detail, please refer here.

To refer to the two commands(ddCreateDataSetFromExcelFile, ddPersistDataSetToExcelFile which allow you to create and persist dataset from/to excel file respectively) in detail, please refer to the Array Creation and Manipulation Commands.

  • Productivity Improvement :: New parameter 'delayPreprocessingIndicator' in the QaCONNECT Schedule Call Service

There is a scenario where you are scheduling the batches and retrieving the failed test run(s) details using the batch results service and using the failed test run ids as the input and the same batch is retriggered and once the executions of the dependent batches are completed, the generation of the report takes place.

Currently, when you schedule the above use case using the dependencies, all the dependent batch runs would complete its preprocessing and the test runs would be in 'Preprocessing Completed' state. As a result, the failed test runs are not getting executed instead all the test runs are getting executed again. To avoid this, a new parameter 'delayPreprocessingIndicator' has been introduced where you can control the preprocessing status of the dependent batch runs. By default, this parameter is set to 'False'.

To know more about this parameter, please refer to the docs page.

  • Productivity Improvement :: Enhancements to Testing Context screen for Test Scenario(s) or Run Definition(s)

Many of you might be looking for this improvement where you can directly copy the testing contexts available in the testing context grid of test scenarios or run definitions. This improvement is coming in this release where you can copy using the 'Copy to Clipboard' icon present before each testing context as shown below:

And also from this release, when you delete a testing context, it would show a confirmation popup similar to the popup shown on performing the delete operation for any entity in Worksoft SaaS.
