Annotations

When you have a new project member joining in to your team or the project is been handed over to any other teams, adding annotations to the test runs will help them in understanding about the Test Runs which gives the description or the comments to any of the local issues to know why a test run has failed either for yourself to review at a later point or share the information with others in the project. You can also choose to see this info in the "Transaction Details" section of Test Cycle Analytics (to be released in the future).

For any test run or to any of the local issues in Worksoft SaaS, you can now add comments by using the Annotation field. As described above, this comes very handy when you have to make a note on why a test run has failed either for yourself to review at a later point or share the information with others in the project.

You can add Annotations from the Test Runs Home screen and from the Execute Results tab as shown below.

Please note that you can use this for any test run irrespective of the status of the test run (whether completed or not). When you try to add an annotation, you can see the name of the user logged in along with the current DateTime.

You can add multiple annotations and can also edit them by clicking on the edit icon. When you make the changes to the existing annotation, the current user and the DateTime are shown. You can also delete the annotation and copy the annotation by clicking on the 'Copy to Clipboard' icon as shown below.

Worksoft SaaS allows you for adding annotation either through the SaaS application (at the test run level & by using command) or by using the QaCONNECT Service. In the SaaS application, you can add the annotation in the "Execution Results", "Test Runs Home" pages (and "Home" page of Run Definition and/or Scenario in the future).

Adding Annotations to the local issues

You can add annotations to the locally created issues from the same popup by selecting the "Issue impacting one or more Test Runs" radio button. The annotations which are created will be added as comments to the issue keys selected from the "Issue Keys" dropdown and perform Save action. You can add an annotation to either single issue or multiple issues at a time by selecting multiple issue keys from the dropdown.
