My Project Settings for User-Defined Variables Module

Before this you might want to read:

Overview

The settings & preferences on the 'User-Defined Variables' tab of the 'My Project-level Settings & Preferences' screen allow you to configure the default settings for the options available in the User Defined Variables screen.

User-Defined Variable Module Preferences & Settings

The settings & preferences are grouped into the following section(s):

  • User-Defined Variables
Default Tab:

The "Default Tab" setting allows you to choose the tab you want to land on whenever you go to the home screen of the 'User-Defined Variables' module within the Worksoft SaaS portal. "Product Environments" is the default setting for this option.

The 'Project Lead' can only perform the enabling/disabling of this setting. This setting is not allowed to share it with your other Project(s) or User(s). You need to switch to the respective project and make the necessary default settings accordingly.

Number of Environments for which Values of User-Defined Variables will be shown at a time:

In the User-Defined Variables screen, you would see the values of each environment shown for each User-Defined Variable. You can select the radio buttons available on the top-right corner of the UDV Home screen where you can have the provision of viewing the values of the UDV of a single or all environments. The default setting allows you to choose the way you would like to view either one or all environments in the User-Defined Variables screen. By default, "All Environments" would be shown selected.

Once you make the changes you want to these settings, you must click 'Save'. Please note that if you have not made any changes to the settings, the 'Save' and 'Cancel' buttons will be disabled. Those buttons will be enabled only when there are changes waiting to be saved.

You need permission to edit the settings values

It is important for you to remember that you will be able to edit a setting in the context of a project ONLY if the project lead of that project has given you permission to personalize the value for the setting.

Propagating value of any setting from this project to other projects

If you want to propagate the value of any setting from this project to other projects that you personally have access to, you can do that as well, assuming that the project leads for those other projects have given you permission to personalize the values for the setting.

Propagating your value of any setting to other users of the same project

If you are a project lead for the project, then you will be able to share the value you set for any setting to other users that have access to that project.
