Release Notes - 22 Jun 2020

New Features available for you to benefit from:

Included in this release are the following features:

  • QaCONNECT REST service that replicates/copies the automation entities from one project to another project is enhanced to support multiple options for copying user-defined variables

Amongst the 'Account' related services, QaCONNECT REST API offers a service that replicates/copies the automation entities from one project to another project within your Worksoft SaaS account (aka domain).

That service is now enhanced to give you numerous options that determine what happens to user-defined variables in scope of your copy. You have options to to only override values of user-defined variables if the user-defined variables already exist in the target project, to only copy any new user-defined variables (along with their values) in the source project if they don't exist in the target project, etc.

Refer to the QaCONNECT REST API Docs to learn more about the options.

  • Support for Inclusion of Test Run Level Annotations into the Consolidated Triage Report generated for a Test Cycle

Worksoft SaaS allows you to create and maintain 'annotations' at two levels. You can create annotations on Issues in the Issue Store and you can also create and maintain annotations at a Test Run level (from within the Test Execution Results screen).

So far when you generate a "Consolidated Triage Report" (which contains 'Net New Issues Report', 'Unique issues Report' etc.,) only the annotations you create on Issues in the Issue Store were getting printed. The annotations that you may have created at a Test Run level, while being visible on the Test Execution Results screen, were not getting printed within the report worksheets of the 'Consolidated Triage Report'.

This release gives you the control to include the Test Run Level Annotations as well into the report worksheets of the 'Consolidated Triage Report'. You can do this by making use of new settings that are now available within the 'Analytics' tab of your Project Level Settings screen.

The new settings give you the granularity to include the Test Run level Annotations in some or all of the following three reports (worksheets) that appears within the 'Consolidated Triage Report' (workbook).

    • Net New Issues Report
    • Unique Issues Report
    • Failed Runs Gap Issues Report

  • Miscellaneous Enhancements to Functionality related to the Issue Store and Atlassian Jira integration

Several functionality and productivity enhancements are rolled out in this release.

    • Ability to link an issue in the Worksoft SaaS Issue Store to one or more issues in Atlassian Jira: This feature will allow you to link an Issue in the Worksoft SaaS Issue Store to issues in Jira sometime after you had created the issue in the Worksoft SaaS Issue Store or to link additional Jira Issues to an Issue in the Worksoft SaaS Issue Store. So far, Worksoft SaaS only allowed Jira issues to be linked only when creating new issues in the Worksoft SaaS Issue Store.

    • Pulldown menus in the Issue creation and linkage screens show and filter based on both issue key and issue summary: This feature is implemented in all Issue Store related functionality that allows a User to select one or more Issues from the Worksoft SaaS Issue Store. If you key in some words from the Issue Summary or a portion of the issue key, the pull down menus auto-filter the list facilitating you to select the issues quickly.

    • Copy to Clipboard functionality is supported now for Issue Key in the search listing within the Worksoft SaaS Issue Store

  • In the Test Scripts Library and My Favorites, support for opening a Test Script in a new browser tab

This small productivity enhancement will save lot of effort potentially, especially when you perform a search within the Project Test Script Library or within your My Favorites. You can continue to see the search listing in one browser tab while you get to view/edit test script in another browser tab.
