Release Notes - 3 Aug 2020

New Features available for you to benefit from:

Included in this release are the following features:

  • Empowering Worksoft AI/ML based Auto Triage to consider values of User-Defined Variables

With this enhancement, you will have the ability to let Worksoft AI/ML consider values of User-Defined Variables when performing automatic triage of failed test runs, if any, within the test cycles that get executed within your projects.

To start benefitting from this powerful feature, you must do the following:

    1. In the Project level settings, within the "Analytics" tab, turn on (enable) the new setting "Enable Worksoft AI/ML to include User-Defined Variables as part of Auto Triage of failed test runs". By default, this feature is disabled in every project.

    2. Edit the Definition for those User-Defined Variables that you want considered during the automatic triage (by Worksoft AI/ML) to turn on (enable) the field "Include for automatic triage of failed test runs performed by Worksoft AI/ML". Be default, this field is disabled for new User-Defined Variables you create within a project unless you also check off the project level setting "Enable by default All User-Defined Variables for inclusion in the Worksoft AI/ML Triage of failed test runs" under the "Analytics" tab. Please note that only values of those User-Defined Variables that are used for dynamic binding of data files and those for which values are overridden via the QaCONNECT REST API are considered by Worksoft AI/ML during the automatic triage process. The values of any User-Defined Variables that are bound within the test scripts executed as part of the Run Definitions (that are not overridden using QaCONNECT REST API) will not be considered by the Worksoft AI/ML as part of the automatic triage.

    3.

    4. When scheduling tests (as part of test cycles) through the QaCONNECT REST API (including those scheduled using the Test Cycle Runner/Scheduler), you must set the value of the parameter "includeUserDefinedVariables" to be true to give guidance to Worksoft AI/ML to consider the values of User-Defined Variables as part of the automatic triage. By default, this parameter uses 'false' as its value.

  • Ability to optionally get Test Run's "User Notes" printed into the Test Cycle level "Consolidated Triage Report"

If you execute the same run definition more than once by varying the data that is fed into it, you most likely must be passing into the Test Run's User Notes parameter some mnemonic/descriptive text that allows you differentiate one run from the other quickly.

This enhancement allows you to optionally get the value of the Test Runs' User Notes to be printed within the various reports (worksheets) of the 'Consolidated Triage Report'.

To enable this feature, just go to the settings within the "Configure Test Cycle Level Test Outcomes > Consolidated Triage Report" section inside the 'Analytics' tab within the Project level Settings, and enable (turn on) all or some of the following settings (based on which worksheets you want this data in):

    • Include Test Run Level User Notes in the sheet "Test_Cycle_Level_Net_New_Issues
    • Include Test Run Level User Notes in the sheet "Test_Cycle_Level_Unique_Issues"
    • Include Test Run Level User Notes in the sheet "Test_Cycle_Level_Failed_Runs_Gap_Issues"

  • Inclusion of Bug Triage details into the "Failed Instructions Log" sheet within the Test Cycle level "Transaction Detail Report Report"

Traceability to Issue within the Worksoft SaaS Issue Store & Traceability to Issue in Jira are now incorporated into the "Failed_Instruction_Log" worksheet of the Transactional Detail report.

                         .

  • Test Cycle Identifier can now include periods

To allow for application build numbers (example: "Build 6.4.023") that contain periods to be used as part of the test cycle identifiers in Worksoft SaaS, periods are now allowed.

  • New Browser/Device Platforms supported in Worksoft SaaS:
