Configuring the Integration with an External Federated Identity Provider

To integrate your Worksoft SaaS domain with your company's federated identity provider (system), go to the home screen of the 'Federated Identity Providers' by accessing the 'Federated Identity Providers' option within the 'Integrations' section of the administrative person user's hamburger menu.

For you to able to integrate one or more federated identity providers that you and may your service providers/vendors use with your Worksoft SaaS domain, you must first enable the 'External Federated Identity Providers' authentication type within the 'Domain Information' screen.

Setting up integration with a Federated Identity Provider

When on the home screen of the 'Federated Identity Providers' simply click on the 'Create' button to start integrating with a external federated identity provider.

When you get to the create screen, fill out a unique name for your integration. Optionally you can enter a description for the system you are integrating with or any other information that you deem to be important to be captured within Worksoft SaaS.

The most important piece of information that is critical for the integration is the meta document that is either browser uploaded into the create federated identity provider screen or referenced via a publicly accessible URL that is keyed into the URL field.

Optionally, you can also specify one or more email domains within which the users trying to access the functionality within Worksoft SaaS must have email addresses. If you choose this option, even if a user gets successfully authenticated at the external federated identity provider, if that user has an email address that is outside the approved list of email domains, he/she will NOT be allowed to access your Worksoft SaaS domain.

        Listing of Federated Identity Providers

Once you configure the integration with a federated identity provider, it will show up within the home screen of the federated identity providers within your domain.

From that screen, you will be able to get into the edit mode of the federated identity provider if you need to make changes to the configuration, disable the integration with the identity provider, or to permanently delete the integration.

You will also be able to see audit trail information about when the integration with the identity provider was set up and if applicable, when the integration was disabled.

If the integration is currently disabled, you will also be able to enable the integration again.
