Release Notes - 23 Nov 2020

Here are the new features available in this release for you to benefit from:
  • Support for User-level Settings that control the default tab within and the behavior of the 'Labels' component during the assignment and search workflows

When you open the labels component in the context of the following two use cases (workflows), the available functionality is packaged into (presented via) a few tabs

    • viewing currently assigned labels and/or correcting/assigning labels
    • selecting labels for inclusion within the search for entity records of a particular entity type (like test scripts, test runs, etc.,)

For the labels assignment workflow (use case), the following tabs are presented:

    • View Assigned Labels
    • Assign Labels
    • Manage Labels

For the labels selection for inclusion in the automation entity search workflow (use case), the following tabs are presented:

    • Select Labels
    • Manage Labels

Please note that when you open the Labels component solely for managing the project level labels (by accessing the option 'Labels' from the hamburger menu, you will not see any tabs within the labels component.

The default tab that will be shown to the user within the two use cases mentioned above (and the default behavior within the default tab) will be determined by the value of a few settings that are made available as part of this release.

When you try to assign labels to any Test Run, by default, only 'Root Causes of Failure' show up. Since most users open the labels component to assign root causes of failure, by default, only the labels under the root cause of failure label are shown.

If you want to assign any other labels to the test runs, you must choose the radio button 'All labels applicable to Test Run and inherited from the Run Definitions'.

When you try to select labels for inclusion in the search criteria for the Test Runs search, by default, only 'Root Causes of Failure' show up. Since most users want to search based on the root causes of failure and not by other labels assigned to the test runs, by default, only the labels under the root cause of failure label are shown.

If you want to include any other labels assigned to the test runs, you must choose the radio button 'All labels directly assigned to the Test Runs and inherited from the Run Definitions'.
