Release Notes - 28 Sep 2021

New Features available for you to benefit from:
  • Ability to view comparison data between a source test run and a target test run (within the same cycle or across target and baseline test cycles)

As you are aware, a recent major release you gave you the ability to specify search criteria within the test runs module that will let you compare the test  outcomes in a target test cycle against a baseline test cycle. The same release also supported a "bulk triage feature" that allows you to assign the root cause(s) of failure and/or the issue linkages from a test run that you finished the triage of to other test runs in the same test cycle that failed for the same reason.

With this release, you have the ability to see comparison details that will be auto-presented to you within the failure triage column cells.

  • With this release, you have the ability to see comparison details that will be auto-presented to you within the failure triage column cells.

  • Visibility of the First Point of Failure contextual "detail" directly from the "Failure Triage" column of the "Test Runs" screen

A new icon appears in the Failure Triage column of the Test Runs screen with mouse over text "", that when clicked shows the contextual detail about the first point of failure:

    • The Global Instruction Sequence # within the Test Run, the Command, Target and Value for the Instruction that experienced the first point of failure
    • The Test Script within which the first point of failure occurred
    • The Test Scenario that that Test Script belongs to
    • The Data Driven Look Iteration #, the Data File and if applicable, the Data Filter that was used for the Data-driven iteration.

  • Support for a User-friendly "Row View" of the Data in a Data File

This release will offer you the ability to view the data from a Data File one row at a time. This view will allow you to see the content of each cell of a row auto-formatted by use of syntax coloring, line numbering, code folding, and more. This will make it a lot easier for you to view and edit the data. If you want to copy the contents of a cell of data, you can click on the copy-to-clipboard icon that appears to the right of the data definition attribute name.

To make use of this user-friendly and productivity enhancing feature, just click on the transpose icon in the row header of the row that you are interested in viewing/editing. You can use this feature during the create mode, edit mode and the view mode of a data file.

Once you are in the row view for a particular row of the data file, you can easily navigate to the next row or the previous row by using the navigator icons on the top right hand side of the overlay screen.

You can search specific keywords that you are interested in and Worksoft SaaS will yellow-highlight the rows within all the cells of the row where the keywords exist. This will help you very easily and rapidly find the data that you need to view or edit.

By checking off the checkbox "Show all data in clear text", you will be able to see any cells that have encrypted data in clear text. Please note that use of this checkbox does not change the underlying data from encrypted data to clear text however. If you want to make the contents of a cell, clear text you will have to edit the data definition to make the appropriate attribute to be not marked for encryption.

If you are in the create or edit mode of the row view, by default, as you navigate from row to row the changes you make, if any, to a row will get auto-saved. To stop the auto-save, please uncheck the checkbox "Automatically save my changes as I navigate to next or previous row"
