Release Notes - 9 January 2023

New Features available for you to benefit from:
  • Creation of Test Automation for Native and Hybrid Mobile Apps without needing Excel/CSV file uploads

This release offers you the ability to natively and efficiently build the test instructions for the test automation of a native or hybrid mobile app within the SaaS application user interface and not require you to create an Excel/CSV file that you browser upload into the SaaS platform.

To create a test script for native or hybrid mobile apps, click on 'Create' button on the Test Scripts home screen and select the native or hybrid product that you want to build the automation for, and click on 'Continue', which then takes you to the "Add Test Script' screen. When on that screen, just enter the name for your test script and start building the test instructions.

You can select the command from the 'Command' drop-down. If the test instructions correspond to an interaction with the mobile app, you should copy paste the locator(s) into the 'Target' field from Appium Inspector. If the test instruction does not correspond to an interaction with the mobile app, you should key in the appropriate input into the 'Target' and 'Value' fields.

  • Ability to launch the command reference for a specific command or the command reference home page within the Knowledge Base from the Test Instruction pane of the Create/Edit/View Test Script screen

From within the Test Instruction pane of the Create/Edit/View Test Script screen, you now will be able to open in a new browser tab the command reference for a specific command or the home page of the command reference within the Knowledge Base.

This handy little feature will facilitate you to refer to the syntax of a specific command or look for a listing commands that are available for you to use to rapidly develop the test automation for your apps.

This feature will work for all category of commands supported within the SaaS platform.
