Launching QaSCRIBE

To launch and use QaSCRIBE, just ensure that the QaSCRIBE latest version is installed on your machine and open the Test Scripts module and click on the create icon (shown below) that appears to the top right side of the Worksoft SaaS application

After selecting the product from the 'Products' dropdown, you can select the option 'Use Native QaSCRIBE' and this will redirect you to the 'Add Test Script' screen where you can start recording the actions in the AUT.

If you are in the 'Add Test Script' screen, you have to enter the Test Script name before you start automating the tests. You can also record and update the test scripts in edit mode

When you start automating the AUT(Application Under Test), you need to enter the Test Script name and select the available tabs from the dropdown or new tab where you manually key in the URL. You can see three different options categorized under the 'New Tab'.

Let us go through each option in detail:

  • Blank Tab - Leave URL field blank - It will be manually keyed in: On selecting this tab, you need to enter the AUT(Application Under Test) URL manually.
  • Blank Tab - Auto-Load Product URL of the Environment chosen: This option will redirect to the new tab with the URL provided for the respective environment in the Products module.
  • Blank Tab - Use Product URL of the Environment chosen as prefix - I want to append to it manually: On selecting this option would load the product URL provided for the respective environment in the Products module along with a text box which gives you a provision to add a suffix to URL. This will be very useful during automating your test cases.

Along with these options, there is also a checkbox in the popup which allows skipping the 'Open' and related commands.

Switching between the Worksoft SaaS and AUT tabs

While Creating/Recording/Executing the Test Scripts locally, you can switch between the tabs by clicking on the icon shown next to the "Play Scenarios/Run Definitions".

If there are multiple AUT tabs opened during the automation, you can also see a popup which asks for the selection of the tab which you wanted to redirect.
