Turning Off Automatic Upgrade of Firefox
However, by default Firefox is installed to automatically check for upgrade and automatically upgrade to the latest available version. When this happens, it is possible that the version of QaSCRIBE you have may stop working with your Firefox browser.
To avoid this, we recommend that you TURN OFF the automatic upgrade feature of Firefox. Here is how you do it:
For Mac OS X Users:
Open the Preferences from the Firefox menu
In the Preference dialog, click on the Updates tab
Select the "Never Check for Updates" radio button.
For Windows Users:
Click on Tools -> Options
In the Options tab -> Click Advanced -> Update -> Select Never check for updates
Note that even though you turn off the automatic upgrade option on Firefox, you will still be able to manually upgrade Firefox to stay up to date with the new features that are being released by Mozilla, or to stay ahead of obsolescence. You will do this in a controlled manner and will be able to ensure that you have the correct version of QaSCRIBE that matches your browser version.
