"Parameterizing" your Test Scripts using Data Definitions (& Attributes therein)

“Parameterization” is a short alternative name for the longer process/terminology we use of “Binding Data Definition’s Attributes to Targets and/or Values within Instructions of your Test Scripts”.

The “Parameterization” process prepares the ground for a Test Script to be run in a Data-Driven mode by “Binding” (or mapping)  Target and/or Value fields of Instructions within that Test Script to Attributes from one of the Data Definitions you had created within your Worksoft SaaS project.

Linking a Data Definition to your Test Script

The first step to make your Test scripts ‘parameterized’ is to choose one of the Data Definitions you created within your Worksoft SaaS Project as the basis for your script parameterization.

You can do this by ‘editing’ the test script you intend to parameterize. Once on the ‘Edit Test Script’ screen, click on the third icon and select a Data Definition from the dropdown.

At this point, you are ready to start parameterizing the “Instructions” within that Test Script.
