If you want to get the Testing Contexts created in bulk for a new Run Definition or Scenario you assemble within your projects, you can very easily do so by clicking on the 'Create from Platform Group' button on the "Specify Testing Context(s)" screen.

This article describes the steps you can follow to achieve this goal:

  1. When you are on the 'Specify Testing Context(s)' screen, you will see two buttons 'Create Manually' and 'Create From Platform Group'.

If you click on the former, you can manually create a single Testing Context for your project.

  2. If you want to create multiple testing contexts en masse, click on "Create From Platform Group" button.
When the "Create Testing Contexts from Platform Group" pop-up screen appears:

    • Select Cloud Platform: Select the Cloud Platform from the first drop-down which shows you all the cloud platforms that are enabled for your domain. Please select a cloud platform on which you want your executions to be carried out. You can only select one cloud platform.

    • Select Environment(s):  Select the Environment for which you want to create Testing Contexts from the drop-down which shows you all the environments that you created. If any of the environment needs a Secure Tunnel to access the AUT, then specify the tunnel to be used.

    • Select Testing Platform from Group(s):
Click on the expand icon beside the text "Select Testing Platforms from Group(s)" to view all the Testing Platform Groups. Next step is for you to select the Testing Platforms of interest from one or more Testing Platform Groups that you have within your project. Using checkboxes, you can select as many (or all) the Testing Platforms.

By default, the list will NOT include the Testing Platforms that are already covered in the Testing Contexts, if any, you have for the specific Run Definition or Scenario you are within the context of. (Because most likely you may NOT want to create another Testing Context that is linked to the same Testing Platform for which you already have a Testing Context).

If you want the list to include the Testing Platforms for which you already have some Testing Contexts linked to, check off the checkbox "Show Testing platforms that are already linked to Testing Contexts of this Scenario or Run Definition".

  3. After you finish your selections, click on Create Testing Contexts button.
  4. After you click on Create Testing Contexts, a confirmation pop-up asking  "Are you sure you want to auto-create Testing Context(s) for this Scenario (or Run Definition) using the testing platforms you selected?" ,  Please check the checkbox "I want to create Testing Context(s) for the same Scenario for other Environments using the same list of Testing Platforms." if you want to create the same testing Contexts for the remaining environments, else leave it blank.

  5. Click Ok confirm the creation of testing Contexts.
You can see the newly created Testing Contexts.
